Our first magazine product, backed by Kickstarter. This coffee-table art book explores the realm of art and faith through the stories of creatives in Japan.
THE ALBUM
In May 2023 we spent time in Tokyo gathering local singers and musicians and capturing their original songs. The result is an album of Japanese songs of faith, worship and the Christian life, with an eclectic mix of genres and styles.
THE PROCESS
We recorded this album in a more traditional / old-school method of setting up all the singers and musicians in the same room and tracking it the songs all at once. With Jonathan guiding the process as a producer, and working with each singer to land on an arrangement we were happy with. We then took the recorded session back to the UK to add extra layers and textures, creating an album that feels like a tasteful blend of a studio and live album. All the while being careful not to colour it with too much of our own style but to have it be an accurate representation of what we captured in the room: beautifully unique songs that feel authentically worshipful and distinctly Japanese.
